Walking tour along the Square which was laid out in the 15th century. Until the middle of the 17th century Red Square was known as "Pozhar", i.e. a place destroyed by a fire. The name "Red" (or "krasnaya", which meant "beautiful" in old Russian) arose in the mid-17th century.The chief architectural detail of the square was the Cathedral of the Intercession on the Moat, which the people renamed the Cathedral of St.Basil the Blessed.to. New Maiden Convent

The Novodevichy Convent one of the significant architectural and historical monuments in Moscow was founded by Vasiliy III in 1524. During all 4 centuries was in the center of all main historical events. It was special monastery, in which among its novices were the members of tsar's family, who didn't satisfy the rulers. Ancient stone building of the monastery- Smolensk Cathedral. You will see frescoes of XVI century, golden altar-screen, and architectural ensemble, made by Russian architector.

Kuskovo is an excellent architectural ensemble of XVII century. Marvelous summer residence of count Pyotr Sheremetev was made for guests' receptions, theatrical performances and walkings.
Till our days are kept more then 20 unique architectural monuments among which are Palace, Grot, Big Stone greenhouse, old church, and others. The center of the ensemble is the Palace, in which still kept the planning and decorate furniture, unique collection of paintings of XVIII century. The sight of the mansion also can be made the well kept till our day's French regular park with marble sculptures, pond and original pavilions.
 

Kolomenskoe Museum-reserve

Kolomenskoe Museum-reserve presents various collections of the 16 – 19th centuries: the Russian ancient painting works, art carving on wood, works of folk arts, Tower of the stockade for keeping political prisoners built in the middle of the 17th century, Small house of Peter the Great made by himself, Fragment of the fortress wall with a watch tower and the gate made of wood without nail.

KGB Museum
   

Historically – demonstrative Hall of Federal Service of Security of Russia (former name – the Chekist Hall of KGB of the USSR) was opened in September of 1984 on the initiative of Y.V. Andropov, who was the chairman of KGB. The Hall was created for perfecting professional training of the State Security organ employees as well as for education of young employees in the best traditions of special organ service.

Sergiev Posad

The history of the city is closed connected with the name of Saint Sergiy Radonezhskiy, who, when he became a monarch, founded The Troitse-Sergiev monastery. Today it is an active monastery.
Sergievo-Posadskaya Lavra-is the religious center of Russian Orthodox Church, one of the residences of Patriarch of all
Russia. Architectural ensemble of 15-19 centuries personify all periods of development of Russian church architecture. In the museum you can see the richest collection of icons, and also rare examples of folk art and Russian national clothes.

 

Russkoe podvorije (Russian Yard) (incl. master class)

“Russkoje Podvorje” is a unique historical and architectural ensemble, built by the Russian architects in the style of pre-Petrine times’ Moscow wooden architecture.  You have an opportunity to have a stroll around “The City-of-Masters” and “The Street of Handicrafts”, where the most famous and popular folk crafts are represented, and various educational master-classes on different kinds of handicrafts are performed. 

Great Kremlin Palace

The Great Kremlin Palace acts as the ceremonial residence of the President. Here, ceremonies are held for the President’s assumption of office, for presenting state awards, credentials, and receptions.

Stalin’s Bunker museum
   

Duration: 2-2,5 hours

Stalin’s Bunker museum is located in Izmailovo and represents a war-time underground head quarters. In 1930-s a whole underground town was built under the stadium and was used by Stalin, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, as an emergency command centre during the years of the World War II. Here you will find some personal belongings of Stalin and items connected with the war events, most of which are original.

Borodino Battle Panorama

Borodino War and History Museum and Reserve was founded in 1839 at the site of the great Battle of Borodino. It’s the world’s oldest museum established on a battlefield, listed by the state as one of the most important sight-seeing venues of the Russian Federation.
The main historical element of the museum is the Borodino fields, where the Russian army led by Kutuzov and the French army led by Napoleon fought from August 22 to August 27, 1812. From October 12 to October 18, 1941, this was the firing line of Mozhaisk defense, where Soviet soldiers countered the Nazi army’s assault on Moscow.  These events turn Borodino battlefield into a revered monument of two Patriotic Wars – Russia’s Glory Memorial.

Fedoskino museum

The village of Fedoskino is Russia's oldest centre of lacquer miniature painting. The history of the unique collection of works of Fedoskino miniature painting masters counts more that fifty years by now. The beginning of the collection has been put by several enthusiastic artists of Fedoskino craft. At the end of the forties of the previous century, having returned from fronts of the Great Patriotic War, they started to gather by grains the works of Lukutin's masters and the best works of their contemporaries with the purpose to teach those things to the growing up generation of Fedoskino artists...
