Russkoe podvorije (Russian Yard) (incl. master class)
“Russkoje Podvorje” is a unique historical and architectural ensemble, built by the Russian architects in the style of pre-Petrine times’ Moscow wooden architecture. It is located in the very place where the handicraft workshops of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovitch used to stand in the XVII century. You have an opportunity to have a stroll around “The City-of-Masters” and “The Street of Handicrafts”, where the most famous and popular folk crafts are represented, and various educational master-classes on different kinds of handicrafts are performed. Only here you can visit a unique forging shop, where black-smiths organize art-shows and master-classes. - It is here on the territory of “Russkoje Podvorje” rises the highest in Moscow functioning wooden temple devoted to St. Nicolas the Illuminator – the patron saint of handicrafts and trade. - You would find here the Trading House “Treasures of Russia”, where thousands of best items of folk crafts executed in various techniques and from the famous craft centers and regions from all over Russia are represented.
