Kizhi Necklace

We introduce the unique opportunity to rest in one of the most beautiful regions of Karelia and Russia - the fascinating Kizhi Archipelago. We will explore nearly all wooden churches and chapels on the Kizhi Island and in the neighborhood - much more than visitors to Kizhi usually see. Besides, we will taste local food, ride a traditional wooden boat and a kayak, fish, meet local people and enjoy the fairy-tale nature. Accommodation is arranged in comfortable guest houses.

 

 

Programme:

Day 1

Arrival in Petrozavodsk by train from St.Petersburg at 7:00 or from Moscow at 09:00. Breakfast, city tour by car. Departure for Kizhi by hydrofoil. Tour to Kizhi Pogost - Churches of the Transfiguration, Intercession, chapels and old wooden houses. Lunch (lunch boxes). Transfer by motor boat to a guest house, accommodation. Dinner. Russian sauna.

Day 2

Optional morning fishing. Breakfast. Motorboat tour "Kizhi Necklace" - chapels built in the 17th-19th centuries and traditional villages. Lunch (guest house). Free time. Dinner (guest house).

Day 3

Breakfast. Kayaking around the Eglov Island (if accommodation is organized on Eglov Island) or hiking trip to the chapel in the village of Vorobyi (if accommodation is organized in villages Seredka or Patanevshina). Lunch (guest house). Transfer to Kizhi, departure by hydrofoil for Petrozavodsk. Transfer to the railway station for trains to Moscow at 19:00 or St.Petersburg at 23:00.
